Black Sun Global's work featured prominently at the World Economic Forum, with projects on energy resilience and biodiversity conservation reaching global leaders and policymakers.
Black Sun work showcased at global forum
Black Sun Global's work took centre stage at Davos 2025, with two major projects featured at the World Economic Forum. The agency's collaborations with DTEK and the Nature Positive Initiative were showcased at one of the world's most influential events, where global leaders address pressing economic, social, and environmental challenges.
The projects reflect Black Sun Global's mission, and the wider Positive Change Group's commitment to helping organisations communicate their impact and drive lasting change.
Biodiversity campaign gains global platform
The Nature Positive Initiative (NPI), which leads a global movement to halt and reverse nature loss by 2030, launched a high-impact awareness campaign at Davos 2025. The campaign featured a video developed by Black Sun Global that was played at the event.
The pro bono project aimed to inspire action and optimism, reinforcing the message of 'more nature, not less'. The campaign included a comprehensive content strategy, key messaging, and a suite of social assets to drive awareness. Black Sun collaborated with Base Creative on a targeted paid campaign to expand reach.
Davos provided a platform for the Nature Positive Initiative to gain momentum, with influential figures including Marco Lambertini (former WWF International Director General) and global policymakers discussing how businesses can integrate nature into decision-making.
Ukraine energy company presents resilience story
The second featured project was Black Sun's collaboration with DTEK, Ukraine's leading energy company. DTEK unveiled its 2024 Action Report at Davos, sharing its journey of innovation, sustainability, and survival during wartime.
With war restrictions preventing DTEK from publishing full sustainability or annual reports since 2020, this Action Report bridged the information gap. It highlighted the company's role in sustaining Ukraine's energy infrastructure, economy, and communities, whilst setting out DTEK's vision to become a Europe-wide green energy powerhouse.
Positive Change Group agencies, Black Sun Global and Stratton Craig, worked with DTEK to develop storytelling and design that brought this narrative to life. Presented to global leaders at Davos, including President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the report demonstrated DTEK's resilience and leadership in shaping Ukraine's energy future.
The project carries particular significance given the challenging circumstances DTEK faces, with many employees currently serving on the front lines whilst the company continues to lead Ukraine's energy transformation.
Demonstrating strategic communications impact
Both projects demonstrate how strategic storytelling and impactful communications can drive meaningful change - from biodiversity protection to energy resilience during crisis. The Davos platform amplified these narratives to influence global leadership conversations on critical issues.
The Nature Positive Initiative campaign runs until the end of February, with impact results expected to be shared subsequently.
